Inspired by TV and radio from an early age, I pursued radio presenting in my thirties. While studying for an MA in Media Production at Birmingham Central University, I began presenting on local stations in Birmingham and Solihull.

In 1998, I co-presented a Gospel music show on Galaxy 102.2 Birmingham, later hosting it solo. Four years later, I joined BBC WM to present the Late Night Gospel show, succeeding Frank Stewart. Since March 2003, I have been a familiar voice on BBC WM and Coventry & Warwickshire, presenting ‘The Gospel Lounge with Nikki Tapper’ ‘ Sunday Night with Nikki Tapper’ and other programmes including BBC Sport Relief and Children in Need.

Throughout my career, I’ve interviewed numerous local personalities, sports celebrities, and politicians, international musicians et al. Most enjoyable, fun to do and demonstrates my flexibility and adaptability.

In 2024, I launched my podcast ‘Have You Got 10 Minutes?’ featuring interviews with notable figures across various fields. I have also launched ‘Have You Got 10 Minutes? Jamaica special that celebrates the island through guests again, from various fields and my recent visit there after 26 years!

I present my show ‘Tapper’s Tree’ on Affinity Xtra, mixing music and conversations with guests about their lives and Christian faith.

Additionally, I am a patron for Birmingham charity, Edwards’s Trust and frequently host events for charitable causes.

I’ve been happily married for 30 years with a daughter, stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
